At 29th April 2009, Curse gaming enabled the “Premium”-Mode of their Curse Updater Tool for World of Warcraft and Warhammer Online.
Can someone help me out ? I recently Uninstalled and Re-installed both WoW and Curse. I changed the curse addon file location to my Wow Folder, it is still not working. I do not know whats wrong. This occured on my brothers computer aswell ! I even updated all my addons and still.. nothing. The 'Add-ons' button is not appearing in character selection. It says all my Add-ons are up to date aswell.
Ooh… curse client. Hmm.
With the risk of stating something you've already tried - have you gone into the Addons menu on the character screen and checked the 'Load Out of Date Addons'? When a new patch hits, this gets unchecked automatically, and any addons - even ones that are updated to current version - may still be registering as old. I changed the curse addon file location to my Wow Folder This also - would probably screw you up. Make sure your addons are in your Addon folder. You should just check it directly from your file system.
The 'add-on' Button isn't on my character selection screen :p
They will not go to my addon folder i have tried this.
Because you put them in the in the wow folder and not the addon folder. If the button isnt there then neither are the addons, in the addon folder.
They will not go to my addon folder i have tried this. Why? What happens when you try to move them? Do you have the 'real' Curse client? There was a bad one that will put a trojan on your system. They will not go to my addon folder i have tried this. Cut them and paste them manually.
After installing curse. and updating all my addons. The addon button in the character screeen didn't appear. So I went on curse and made sure the file location was correctly placed to my Wow fodler. And it is. The addon folder within the World of warcraft-interface-addons folder will not connect to curse.

I've used the curse client in the past and, frankly, i got rid of it and do it manually now. It was convenient for a little bit, but then the ads, the security loopholes, and this stuff made me get rid of it. My advice would be to save yourself future headaches by getting used to manually installing your addons.

The 'add-on' Button isn't on my character selection screen :pThis may happen when there's no selectable addons in the folder. Just a guess there. The addon folder within the World of warcraft-interface-addons folder will not connect to curse. You should contact curse then. No addons in the folder, then no addons..
How would i go about just using the site? just uninstall Curse. and make an Addon folder? then start intalling fromthe site to this newly made folder. do i put this folder in World of wacraft - interface - Addons ?
Exactly what folder did you point the curse client to? Example c:program files(x86)WorldofWarcraft

You can navigate to individual addons using the website and download directly from there. E.g. start here: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow And then as to the folder - yep. That's the one. Just unzip your download and put the contents directly into the Addon folder. If you're updating an existing addon - agree to any overwrites or folder merges.
Whooooa!
This section of the site is completely AWOL. If you believe it was forcibly removed via Zerg sabotage you can submit a help ticket by clicking the help link near the login at the top left of the page This happened when i went on the Curse site and tried downloading DBM
Yah I am getting this error when ever i try to download any addon directly off the site
Whooooa! lol. I usually get DBM from their site. This link works for me: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/deadly-boss-mods
Yup that's where i went. And when i click on 'Download Now' it sends me to the page with that error message.
Yup that's where i went. And when i click on 'Download Now' it sends me to the page with that error message. Hes right 404 error.. but Im on my work PC so that could be the reason Im seeing it.. Have you asked in the Curse forums OP? Did you DL and install this first? http://www.curse.com/client
I tried it because I'm home, and yes, I also get the same message.
There are so many different paths WoW can go after a reinstall it isn't even funny. Your WoW folder will contain another subfolder called Interface. That folder will contain your proper Addon folder.
That said if it's reinstall, chances are they're may be another old WoW folder which is no longer relevant. If it doesn't have a ton of files in it, it's not the right WoW folder. Confusing, I know. Good luck.

Premium Version
More pets mod 1.7.10. Many people are pissed, because the free really sucks for the following reasons.
Besides that, Curse Gaming also violates against the new Blizzard Addon Policy which clearly states that it’s forbidden to charge money for addons, or any services connected to this addons, not even ask for donations or advertisement (at least in-game).
Add-ons must be free of charge
All add-ons must be distributed free of charge. Developers may not create 'premium' versions of add-ons with additional for-pay features, charge money to download an add-on, charge for services related to the add-on, or otherwise require some form of monetary compensation to download or access an add-on.
I’ve marked the most important part of this policy. The change took a few weeks ago on 19th March 2009 giving all addon developers and publishers 2 months of time (until 19th May 2009) to adapt this and made necessary changes to their addons to make them freely available and free of charge until this date, before Blizzard start to taking actions against it (may it be legal actions or disabling addons in question).
However, Curse decided to offend against this policy and exploit their users of the client by charging them for services and addons which are (and should be) free for all, instead of asking for donations or only limit themselves to advertising to cover the traffic costs.
The money gained through advertising is more then enough to cover ALL traffic and server costs as well as to get some really nice profit, if you do your the calculations!
From experience i can tell you that from 1000 visitors on your website, there will be 0.5-1% who click on the advertisement. That’s 5-10 clicks per 1000 page views. The income of this 5-10 clicks can vary between $0.50 (~10 cent/click) up to $2.50 (~50 cent per click). Multiply this with 30 and you got $15-$75 per month, with only 1000 visitors daily.
Super mario 64 chaos edition. Curse however is much more popular than my blog here (i have approximately 1500 visitors daily, more if there are some special events or new instances released, like Ulduar which lead ~100.000 visitors since 14. April 2009).
According to TrafficEstimate, Curse had little over 2.000.000 (2 million!) visitors in the last 30 days. That’s approximately 10.000-20.000 clicks per month (if you assume 0.5-1% click-through rate, which is very realistically, probably more. Always depends on the side and your visitors). Which turns in into $1000-$2000 (worst case of $0.1/click) up to $5.000$-$10.000 or more (assuming $0.50/click). Sometimes there are clicks worth even more (my highest was around $3.00, but are quite rare). According to Alexa Ranking, every visitor views ~10 pages. So take the numbers from above and multiply it with 10. That’s up to $50.000-$100.000 monthly! More than enough to pay of 10 people working on the page and this only by advertising!
This is by far much more than you’d ever need to pay traffic/server costs, pay 10 people for full-time working on the website and still have a profit margin of up to $50.000.
And this only through advertising (i.e. Google Adsense). However, for such high traffic websites, advertisers can directly by advertisement spots on this pages, which year a much higher income or PPC (Pay-Per-Click) rate. Even PPM (Pay-Per-Mile/Thousand of Impressions) which pay ~1-2$ per 1000 impressions (with 20.000.000 pageviews per months that’s $20.000-$40.000).
And that’s nothing compared to affiliate programs, where you get a fixed percentage of the sales. For example from a $50.00 Leveling Guide you refer, you get 50% ($25.00). This has a much better conversion rate than any other form of Advertisement. Don’t believe it? I’ve earned $295.93 with this blog by having only an average of 1.500 visitors per day!
What I am trying to say with this? The thing i want to say, is that this greed really annoys me, as there is much more ways to make money from a website without having to exploit your visitors and charge money for a free service (and to violate against any policies).
Curse Updater & Spyware
Additionally to that above, there is some weird behavior of the new 3.0.0.4 version of the Curse Updater. Since the update a few days ago before they switched to Premium, there are some warnings from my Personal Firewall, that the Curse Updater tries to access private data. It’s accessing some of the values of the Internet Explorer which are declared as private data.

Need for speed underground 3 2017 download pc. Looks like more ways from them to exploit the users and make money by collecting personal data (like which website you’re visiting and sell it to marketing companies).
So recently Curse Client (used by some games like World of Warcraft, Minecraft, Skyrim and a few more released version 5, a lot of problems have followed since.)Now the problem i had was with the installation, program downloaded but has an error, application could not be started or something like that. So i went over to the support site (http://clientsupport.curse.com/) where they had some fixes. Now heres the Curse Support fix http://clientsupport.curse.com/guide.aspx?id=30 1. Go to C:/users/YOUR USER/AppData/Local/Apps And delete the 2.0 Folder, After that try to install Curse Client again, didnt work for me, perhaps it works for somebody else. 2. Install, update .Net 3.5 Client Profile/ SP1, now these should all-ready be installed you can manually re-install them but that probably isn't the case when other applications that use it are working fine. I did this but again, no luck 3. Now this is a bit retarded fix, they have a Corrupt.Net Framework program, you can get it from http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip It uninstalls all your .Net Framework and automatically restarts your PC, this didn't do anything, after i re-installed 3.5 still the Curse Client Installer failed. Now for what worked for me. 4. Install .Net Framework 4.5, you can get it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/net This has all the previous versions and should be stable with no problems. After that 5. Go and download CCleanerhttp://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Its free and helps you get rid of some other unwanted temp files aswell. 5.1 Run Cleaner (on Cleaner tab on your left side), this scans and deletes unused files, also wipes your browser history (uncheck if you want to keep it!), cookies, temp files etc. After thats done Curse Client Addon Manager5.2 Go over to Registry Tab, and press Scan for Issues, it will find a lot of unused DLL files and so on. After Scan is complete press Fix Selected Issues, Curse Client Not Updating Addons On Macnow you can back up your registry and save it as a file in case something important gets removed from registry, or you can press no and have it permanently delete all the missing files from registry. Now you are all done, try to install Curse Client v5, it worked for me, perhaps it will for you aswell :)
I downloaded twich a couple of months ago per my brother's request. I never used it before, always stuck to Curse. Since the last patch, my addons are updated in Twitch and in Curse Client, but they are not updating IN GAME. They all still say out of date.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Twitch and Curse. I unistalled Twitch completely. Game and Curse Client are up to date. I downloaded twich a couple of months ago per my brother's request. I never used it before, always stuck to Curse. Since the last patch, my addons are updated in Twitch and in Curse Client, but they are not updating IN GAME. They all still say out of date. Curse client no longer exists and could be causing you issues. Twitch is the new version of curse. You want to make sure the game is closed. and that if for some reason you have multiple versions of wow on your machine that the twitch client is set for the one you play
Thank you, I uninstalled Curse and reinstalled Twitch. I did have a Beta version installed so I uninstalled that.
It is still not working. :-/
make sure you aren't in game when you update
also just delete the interface and wtf folders and try again. this will reset your interface and you will have to rebuild it if it's customized. I would recommend you back up the wtf and interface folder
Just manually install them?
I have had this same issue and after twitch supposedly “updated” my addons.I logged into wow and got error messages about multiple add ons are experiencing high numbers of errors. I deleted twitch, it’s not user friendly to me anyway. Not sure where I can update my addons now.
I seem to be having this issue as well, came back to WoW to find no Curse and mods not updating..not sure how to fix this
